Traffic safety drive in Kerala from May 16

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A State-wide special drive would be launched from May 16 to enforce rules pertaining to the observance of rules pertaining to yellow markings on roads.

An official spokesman quoted Mr Rishiraj Singh, Inspector-General of Police, Armed Police Battalion and Traffic Planning, as saying that highway patrol teams would be pressed into service during the fortnight-long drive and stern action taken against those who flouted the yellow markings. The drive was aimed at curbing the rising graph of road accidents in the State as well as at creating awareness among motorists about road markings.
