Rubber market remains stagnant

THE rubber market continued to stagnate in the absence of trading interest on Wednesday. With the exception of ISNR 20, which lost 25 paise on brisk selling pressure, all the grades remained unchanged as the transactions were extremely thin.

Sheet rubber RSS 4, closed at Rs 57.50 per kg as on Tuesday. The TOCOM June futures for RSS 3 moved up to close at 148.5 yen from 144.1 yen. The futures market improved following better TOCOM closing. The near month June delivery was quoted at Rs 58.40 (Rs 57.92), July at Rs.58.20 (Rs 57.90) and August at Rs 57.49 (Rs 57.29) per kg for RSS 4.The volumes were low.

The spot market rates per kg on Wednesday were: RSS 4 Rs 57.50 (Rs 57.50), RSS 5 Rs 56.50 (Rs 56.50), ungraded Rs 55.50 (Rs 55.50), ISNR 20 Rs 56.00 (Rs 56.25) and latex 60 per cent Rs 43.50 (Rs 43.50)
