Yuvraj to endorse Hercules cycles

Sriram Srinivasan

Chennai , May 12

THE cycle industry, like many others, is looking up to India's successful young cricketers to boost its fortunes. After bowling sensation Irfan Pathan appeared in a commercial for Hero Cycles, it's the turn of Yuvraj Singh to bat for TI Cycles.

According to industry sources, the flamboyant batsman, who is also well renowned for his fielding, has been signed on by TI Cycles for endorsing its Hercules brand.

Mr Mohit Khattar, Vice-President (Sales & Marketing), TI Cycles, confirming the news, told Business Line that the "power and passion personified by the young and dynamic Yuvraj" forms a perfect fit with the qualities that Hercules stands for.

Yuvraj's recent success in Pakistan, where he cemented his place in the Test squad with a string of impressive performances, also augurs well for the brand, he said.

The cricketer will feature in an ad — created by Mudra, the agency which handles the Hercules brand — which will be on air in a month or so, Mr Khattar added.

Yuvraj endorses brands such as Nippo Batteries, Pepsi and Reebok. Today, LG Electronics too named him its new brand ambassador.
