Hasbro store in Kochi

KOCHI: Hasbro, the company that owns the Genesis & Basics brands, has opened its first exclusive store in Kochi as part of its expansion plans in the State.

The new store will have the entire range of shirts, trousers and belts priced between Rs 499 and Rs 799 for shirts and Rs 599 and Rs 999 for trousers. The company plans to open three more stores in Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Thalassery in one year. The total investment made in Kerala market has been to the tune of Rs1.3 crore and the turnover from the Kerala market has been over Rs 2 crore, Mr Suhai Sattar, Partner, Hasbro said.

The brands already have a significant presence in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The company has recorded a 50 per cent growth over the last two years, he said. Genesis and Basics brands are also present in the Gulf region through 50 multi brand outlets covering Dubai, Muscat, Saudi Arabia, Cyprus, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar. The company also has two exclusive stores in Colombo.
