Kanoria Chemicals net rises 55.7 pc

THE board of Kanoria Chemicals and Industries Ltd (KCIL) has recommended a 25 per cent dividend on equity shares and 13.5 per cent on cumulative redeemable preference shares for fiscal 2003-04, according to a company release.

The company's net profit during the year increased by 55.7 per cent to Rs 19.8 crore from Rs 12.7 crore in 2002-03. Turnover during the year increased by seven per cent to Rs 360.3 crore from 336.8 crore in the previous year.

During the January-March 2004 quarter, the company has registered a 207 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 5.2 crore from Rs 1.7 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal on the back of a 9.1 per cent rise in turnover to Rs 92.2 crore from Rs 84.5 crore in the last quarter of the previous fiscal, the release said.
