CII launches engineering division

KOLKATA: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has launched a national division for Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies. Distinct from general construction companies, EPC companies take on turnkey contracts for designing and supplying projects to power plants, chemical and petrochemical plants, and oil and gas refineries. Mr Sudhir Kapur, MD & CEO of Lurgi India Company Ltd, has been made the Chairman of the new division. According to a CII source, one of the objectives is to support this sector to develop and explore opportunities in the country and abroad.
