Hyderabad , May 16

THE Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), an affiliated body of the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh (ALEAP), in association with the State Bank of India, would be conducting a three-week entrepreneurship development programme for the first generation entrepreneurs, both men and women.

In a press release here, the CED said the programme would commence on May 19 to continue till June 11 at ALEAP Industrial Estate located at Gajularamaram near Kukatpally in the city outskirts.

According to the ALEAP President and CED Chairperson, Ms Ramadevi Kanneganti, said the main objective of the three-week programme was to enlighten and expose participants on various concepts of entrepreneurship and small business management. She was of the view that in starting an industry or a business, first generation entrepreneurs have to face many problems initially, particularly women entrepreneurs.

The three-week programme would cover various topics such as business opportunities in food processing, plastics, agro-based and electronics industries, need, objective and characteristics of entrepreneurship, concepts of marketing, finance, working capital management, production and planning, business communication, role of information technology, total quality management, export promotion and documentation, opportunities available in Government-sponsored schemes, market survey and preparation of project profiles, industrial visits, success stories and others.

Experts from reputed organisations that include SBI, CIPET, CFTRI, SIDBI, SISI, KVIC, NISIET and Nabard would handle these topics, while CED would supplement them, Ms Ramadevi said.

Apart from sponsoring, SBI is also supporting the programme with its faculty members involved in handling the sessions. Around 1,000 project profiles from different sectors are being made available to the participants for selection and guidance.

The CED has decided to charge a nominal fee of Rs 1,500 for non-residential programme and Rs 3,000 per residential programme.
