Meeting with AP chilli farmers

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: Mr Mohan Kanda, the Chief Secretary, held a review meeting with chilli farmers and trade representatives from Guntur and Khammam districts.

The meeting made an appeal to farmers to bring their produce into the markets in a planned way instead of flooding it with their stocks. Dumping of produce in huge quantities led to steep fall in rates, the Commissioner and Director of Marketing said here on Monday. In a press release, the Commissioner said Rs 5 crore more would be set apart for grant of pledge loans to farmers.
