KOCHI: A total number of 85 companies including six big size companies were registered in Kerala during April 2004.

Out of this, four are public limited companies with a total authorised capital of Rs 125 lakh and the rest 81 are private limited companies with authorised capital of Rs 1,315 lakh.

As many as 41 cases were filed during the month for violation of various provisions of the Companies Act and an amount of Rs 57,800 was imposed as fine by the court against companies and directors. During the period, one company went into liquidation, 92 companies were struck off and seven companies changed their names.
