New Delhi , May 21

THE Congress can well heave a sigh of relief with the Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) deciding to join the Government. However, the RJD chief, Mr Laloo Prasad Yadav, continues to play hard to get, with the party yet to make its position on joining the Congress-led Government clear. The Congress party is hopeful that the leader from Bihar would change his mind soon.

On its part, the Congress on Friday party made efforts to get Mr Yadav to its side. "We have sorted out everything with the RJD leader, Mr Laloo Prasad Yadav," the part spokesman, Mr Kapil Sibal, said.

Earlier, Mr Yadav had met Congress leaders Mr Arjun Singh, Mr R.K. Dhawan and Mr Sibal and had put forth "certain sensitive" suggestions relating to his party's participation in the Government.

Mr Yadav also met Mr Pawar to discuss the issue of government formation. Both leaders had indicated that they would take a joint stand on the issue. However, with the NCP now agreeing to be part of the Government, the Congress is hopeful that the RJD, too, would fall in line.
