Micro lending

This is with reference to "Micro lending: Challenge and opportunity" (BusinessLine, May 25).

The overhead of the banks is not conducive to opening branches or extension counters in every village. Unless the rural people are actively involved in the development of the countries' economy, India cannot realise its full potential.
