IIM imbroglio

This is with reference to "IIM imbroglio: A social cost benefit perspective" (Business Line, May 25). No one complained about the fees in the IIMs and the least Government intervention is preferred.

There are plenty of areas the Government has to streamline such as engineering colleges and management education in state universities and private colleges.

Many private engineering institutions in Tamil Nadu demand hefty capitation feesfor admission under the management quota. The sudden proliferation of deemed universities, each having it's own admission procedures makes matters worse.

Similarly many State universities and private engineering colleges offer MBA programmes today but is industry ready to accept them? The HRD Ministry should focus on these issues.
