`ISO a challenge for Indian cos'

Our Correspondent

MADURAI: Indian companies are struggling to maintain ISO 9000 status as they find it hard to adhere to total quality management norms, said Mr B.T. Bangara, Managing Director, Hiteh Arai Ltd, here.

Speaking at the National Conference on "Challenges in Achieving Global quality - CAGA 2004", held in the city, he said there is need for change of mindset of every worker in order to produce and deliver quality products and services. Industries will have to work hard for survival in a single pricing system without the backing of the government. The scenario is such that only 5 per cent of Indian companies will be able to survive, he added.
