Software Logistics - Software Fleet tracking from Bharti arm Our Bureau
NEW DELHI: Bharti Broadband & Data Group, a group company of Bharti Enterprises focusing on data solutions by integrating Internet, VSAT (very small aperture terminals) and enterprise broadband solutions, on Thursday launched its fleet tracking solution targeted at corporates and fleet owners who own and maintain a large fleet of vehicles. The solution runs on GSM-GPS (global system for mobile communications-based global positioning system) technology. It uses a combination of the global positioning system, the geographic information system and the 900/1800 MHz wireless communications technology on AirTel's national infrastructure, a company release said. Bharti Broadband & Data Group, which is expecting a turnover in excess of Rs 500 crore in 2004-05, expects the fleet tracking solution to contribute up to 10 per cent to its revenues. The company aims to achieve this target by reaching out to more than 200 corporates and fleet owners spread across the country.
