FAPCCI welcomes CMP

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) has welcomed the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) announced by the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government on Thursday.

In a press release here on Friday, Mr S.S.R. Koteswara Rao, President of FAPCCI, said the programme would give a direction to the Government for the next five years. Providing finance to the farm sector at lower interest rates and targeting a Gross Domestic Product growth of 7-8 per cent would go a long way in strengthening country's economy.

FAPCCI also welcomed the move to increase allotments to education to six per cent and health to 2-3 per cent of the GDP. It, however, wanted the Government to be careful while reviewing the Electricity Act, 2003.
