Kerala Minister's call to co-operatives

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Co-operation Minister, Mr M.V. Raghavan, has called for concerted action by employees, the Government and political parties to prevent the century-old cooperative movement from plunging into a crisis.

Inaugurating the 21st State conference of the All Kerala Cooperative Urban Bank Employees Association here, the Minister said cooperative banks could be made profitable only if their profligate ways were curbed and efficiency levels improved. He sought the cooperation and commitment of cooperative bank employees for the purpose.
