Milk procurement price increased in TN

Chennai , June 1

THE Tamil Nadu Government said it would be increasing the procurement price of milk from Tuesday. However, the Government would not increase the price of milk sold by Aavin.

In a statement, the Chief Minister, Ms J. Jayalalithaa, said the procurement price for cow's milk would now be Rs 10.50 a litre against Rs 9.50 earlier and Rs 12.50 for a litre of buffalo's milk against Rs 11.44 earlier.

She said the Government would also take steps to increase the number of milch cattle by 1,000 in each of the panchayat unions.
