Suresh Reddy elected AP Speaker

Hyderabad , June 1

MR Kethireddy Suresh Reddy has been unanimously elected Speaker of the 12th Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.

Born on May 25, 1959, Mr Reddy graduated in Economics, Political Science and Public Administration from Nizam College in Hyderabad. A native of Chautpalli village of Kammarapalli mandal in Nizamabad district, Mr Reddy has been representing the Balakonda Assembly constituency since 1989.

Following his election, members, cutting across party lines, congratulated him for becoming the Speaker at a young age. However, the 45-year-old Chairman of the House said, "I look young but I am not really young."
