SQC software development group set up

Vinson Kurian

Thiruvananthapuram , June 2

SOFTWARE Quality Centre (SQC), an organisational change management company based in Bangalore, has set up a Technology Solutions Group (TSG) with the aim of entering software services and offshoring.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr Krishnan Puthucode, Director and Chief Executive Officer, said TSG had been mandated to develop, deploy and maintain relevant tools to foster project management and to sustain process improvements in customer companies. It would also seek to develop internal tools to help automate tasks and achieve greater productivity.

"Ultimately, we have plans to spin it off as a separate company. TSG has already come out with project management tools. As we go along, we would like to devise separate tools for risk management in companies, defect tracking and defect management as also for software testing. We don't intend to commercialise the tools by selling them as stand-alone. These would be bundled with process improvement and management solutions sold to clients.

SQC is the pioneers of CMMI (CMM-Integration) assessment in the country and is a partner company of the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon.
