L&T in 2 consortia to bid for metro airport projects

LARSEN & Toubro, which successfully bid for the greenfield Bangalore international airport project along with Siemens and Zurich airport, is going to be part of two consortia that will bid for the privatisation and modernisation projects of international airports in Mumbai and Delhi.

For the Mumbai project, L&T is part of a consortium that includes Piramal Enterprises (Ajay Piramal group) and Hochtief Airport GmBH, Germany. L&T has already associated with Piramal Enterprises in the latter's retail venture Crossroads in Mumbai.

For the Delhi project, the company has formed a consortium with Bharti Enterprises and Changi airport, Singapore, said Mr A. Ramakrishna, President (Operations), ECC division and Deputy Managing Director, L&T.
