Stress on water conservation

Our Bureau

MANGALORE: Water trading is not a good sign for future, says Mr Sreekrishna Padre, water conservationist from Kasaragod of Kerala. He was delivering a lecture on "Rain harvesting-Why and how?" at the World Environment Day celebrations organised by Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd in Mangalore.

Terming water scarcity as a man-made problem, he said that people's viewpoint on water usage should be changed.

Mr Padre said that rainwater harvesting is compulsory for building owners in Tamil Nadu. People should be educated about water conservation methods, and awareness should be created in this regard, he added.
