CMP: Proper implementation

This is with reference to "A common and minimum address" (Business line, June 8). The editorial falls short of definite commitment on some programmes like the work guarantee scheme.

But it contains a vision that is generally laudable. Agriculture, education, employment, health etc get priority.

At the same time, economic reforms and the priorities of the business community are also given due importance with objectives being a stable tax regime, encouragement to foreign institutional investors, foreign direct investment, and so on.

But the success of the CMP lies in its implementation.

Technology is to be used advantageously. It is necessary to build up a proper structure for ensuring that the programme is implemented without leakages.

A. Jacob Sahayam
