Airlines KCCI seeks more air services for Mangalore Our Bureau
Mangalore , June 9 THE Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has urged the aviation industry to provide more facilities to Mangalore passengers. Some of the facilities sought include reintroduction of Boeing 737 service connecting important metros and rearrangement of flight timings. A KCCI press release said here on Wednesday that the area is attracting massive investments from various quarters. In such a situation, air service should match the growth projections and the service oriented from the area. The chamber has asked Air Deccan to advance its flight schedule by one hour. It would enable passengers to arrive for the day's work and return that day itself. KCCI has requested Indian Airlines to reintroduce the regular service of Boeing 737 on the Chennai-Bangalore-Mangalore-Bangalore-Chennai sector. This was a convenient flight earlier for passengers from Chennai and Bangalore to Mangalore, the release said. Requesting Jet Airways India Pvt Ltd to introduce same-day return facility for the passengers of Mumbai and Chennai, it said that the KCCI constituents in the software sector are urging it to plead for the same-day services with the aviation industry. In its letter to Air Sahara, the KCCI has asked it to begin services in the Delhi-Mumbai-Mangalore sector. Air Sahara could also consider partnering with Emirates Airlines, Gulf Air and Air India to have day flights from Mangalore to Gulf countries, the release added.
