SOTC offers `hotelships' to Drupa participants

Our Bureau

Kolkata , June 10

FOR the first time, SOTC — the outbound travel division of Kuoni India Ltd — has arranged for "hotelships" docked on the banks of the Rhine in Germany, providing an accommodation option to participants of Drupa - the world's largest exhibition for the printing industry.

The arrangement was made through tie-ups with German cruise companies, according to a company source.

While major trade fairs in Germany often attract between 60,000 and 70,000 Indians every year, visitors to these fairs often have little choice but to put up in hotels even 50 miles away. SOTC has tried to plug this gap by offering the business hotelship option. A SOTC source said that, in association with the organisers of `Drupa', an India Day was organised. As part of its arrangement, 20 Indian chefs were flown to Germany to prepare Jain, vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
