Ace Micromatic opens technology centre in Pune

ACE Micromatic Group, a player in the machine tool industry, has opened up a technology centre in Pune. Talking to presspersons, Mr Srinivas G. Shirgurkar, Director, said the latest technology centre would offer comprehensive training programme, tryouts and productivity improvement solutions, while also serving as a showcase for the Group's portfolio.

The technology centre complex stands on an area of 10,000 sq. ft and an investment of close to Rs 2 crore, Mr Shirgurkar said. He noted that the company is planning to set up technology centres in Gurgaon, Chennai and then Bangalore, during the current fiscal.

Location has already been decided at Gurgaon and the hunt for location in Chennai would begin soon, he said. The company already has a technology centre in Bangalore, which forms part of its factory, he added.

Looking at the financials of the company, Mr P.A. Pandit, Director of the company, said the group had recorded a turnover of Rs 635 crore for the year ended March 2004 and was targeting a growth of 30 per cent for the current fiscal. The group consists of Ace Designers Ltd, Ace Manufacturing Systems Ltd, Micromatic Grinding Technologies Ltd, and Pragati Automation Pvt. Ltd. He noted that the main customer segments of the machines where in the automotive and auto component industry and it had recorded an export of $1 billion for the last fiscal.
