Tea Mixed trend in Kochi tea sale Our Bureau
Kochi , June 13 A MIXED trend persisted for almost all varieties of tea at the Kochi tea auction. Though the dust sale witnessed a good general demand, it was comparatively low for leaf varieties. Of the quantity of 9,89,000 kg on offer in the dust category, CTC market was generally lower especially for high priced teas. The best CTC varieties commanded prices between Rs 52-68, medium CTC realised Rs 43-50 and poorer type were quoted Rs 38-42. Highgrown BOPD realised Rs 85, while Medium BOPD fetched prices between Rs 36-39. Secondaries were quoted at Rs 33-35. The leaf sale witnessed only a fair general demand and the quantity on offer was 5,16,000 kg. Orthodox medium and High growns were lower by Rs 2 to Rs 3 and CTCs steady to occasionally easier. Exporters operated with fair strength. The best Nilgiri varieties commanded prices between Rs 55-70, medium Orthodox Rs 43-58 and plain Orthodox were d at Rs 40-42. The best CTC leaf fetched prices between Rs 48-62, while medium CTC leaf realised Rs 38-45. In the dust category, Parkside BOPD-CL realised the best prices of Rs 85 followed by Pasuparai SFD by Rs 74. In the leaf varieties, Havukal BOPF fetched the best prices of Rs 98 followed by Chamraj OP by Rs 89.
