NIIT Tech names its CEO

NEW DELHI: NIIT Ltd has named its whole-time director, Mr Arvind Thakur, as the CEO of its demerged entity, NIIT Technologies Ltd (NTL).

Mr Subroto Bhattacharya and Mr Surendra Singh have also been appointed on the board of NIIT Technologies Ltd. This follows the demerger of the company's global solutions business into NTL, NIIT Ltd informed the Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday.

Mr Thakur, who was a whole-time director of NIIT Ltd, has also tendered his resignation from the parent company's board. The appointments were made after the company's board meeting held on Saturday. The demerger of NIIT's software services business into a new entity, NIIT Technologies Ltd (NTL), came into effect from June 4.

Mr Rajendra S. Pawar will be the Chairman of both companies whereas Mr Vijay Thadani will be the CEO of NIIT Ltd.
