Hyderabad , June 14 BELL Granito Ceramic Ltd (BGCL), the Baroda-based Rs 100-crore vitrified tiles major, has chalked out a major expansion programme for its retail marketing operations across the country for the next six months period. According to the BGCL Vice-President, Marketing, Mr B.G. Vyas, the company plans to set up 22 exclusive outlets across the country wherein the customers would be provided with the convenience of having a comprehensive display of wide collection of vitrified tiles of the company. Of this, eight outlets would be unveiled in South India alone, he said. Addressing a press conference on the eve of opening of the first such exclusive outlet of the company here on Monday, he said the exclusive outlets across the country would be centrally located in different cities and towns for the convenience of customers, architects, interior designers and corporate customers. "It is a strategic move to come out with exclusive outlets across the country to widen our existing network and to block prime retail outlets for Marbo Granit vitrified tiles. We are optimistic that this move will enable us to surge ahead of intense competition currently witnessing the vitrified tiles segment," Mr Vyas said. BGCL is currently the market leader with a share of around 25 per cent in the Rs 400-crore vitrified tiles market in the country. Stating that the vitrified tiles segment of the Rs 2,500-crore ceramic tiles market is currently growing at 20 per cent per year, Mr Vyas said the company hopes to outperform the industry growth owing to the strategic retail marketing programmes being initiated by it.
