Agricultural Institutions Nabard aid for AP irrigation projects Our Bureau
Hyderabad , June 15 THE National Bank for Agricultural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 59.91 crore as loan assistance to the Andhra Pradesh Government for implementing 19 minor irrigation and 2 lift irrigation projects at an estimated cost of Rs 66.57 crore. These projects have been cleared under the Agriculture Infrastructure & Credit Fund (AICF), by the Project Sanctioning Committee in its meeting held on June 12 in New Delhi, according to a press release from Nabard Regional Office here. While 14 minor irrigation projects funded would be taken up in Adilabad district, one project each would be in Khammam, Mahboobnagar, Kurnool, Anantapur and Vizianagaram districts, the release said. The two lift irrigation project for which loan has been sanctioned are in Kotavaripalem in Prakasam district and Sankara Samudram-II in Mahboobnagar district. These projects are expected to provide assured irrigation to an ayacut of nearly 10,000 hectares.
