SBI opens branch at Tripunithura

Kochi , June 16

THE State Bank of India opened its 236th branch in the State at Tripunithura on Wednesday.

Inaugurating the fully computerised branch, Mr C. Narasimhan, Chief General Manager, Kerala Circle, said the bank hoped to reach out to more people by opening new branches, expanding the ATM network and facilitating Internet transactions etc.

SBI has 26 branches in and around Ernakulam and the new branch. The bank's business in the State in 2003-04 crossed Rs10,000 crore, said Mr Narasimhan.
