Retailing Bose Corporation plans expansion Our Bureau
Chennai , June 16 BOSE Corporation India Pvt Ltd, which has set up a retail outlet as well as an office for its professional systems division in Chennai, is looking at further expansion. The company's General Manager, Mr Ratish Pandey, told presspersons here that Bose may make its retail debut in Hyderabad while expanding in Mumbai, where it already has one retail outlet. The expansion will be funded by its profits. Bose operates the retail and the professional systems divisions in India, with the latter providing customised audio solutions in terms of design, supply, installation and commission, training and maintenance for professional spaces, he said. The company's professional systems division has offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai. It also has two retail outlets in Bangalore and one each in Mumbai, Gurgaon, New Delhi and Chennai. While refusing to disclose figures, Mr Pandey said the privately-held Bose has recorded year-on-year growth of 60 per cent in the past three years and would continue to perform in such a manner in the near future. It doesn't seem to be perturbed by the entry of other players in the "high-end" category. "The market is big enough," said Mr Pandey, when asked whether the entry of rivals such as Boston Acoustics will shrink Bose's share. The company's biggest market in terms of volumes is North America while the fastest growing one is the Asia-Pacific.
