Music & Dance Stage set for Nandi festival in Hyderabad Our Bureau
Hyderabad , June 16 THE sixth annual Nandi Natakotsavam will begin on June 19 here, with 32 drama troupes vying for the top honours. Mr Polavarapu Suryaprakasa Rao, a well-known theatre personality, will open the weeklong fete. "Of the 31 plays, 10 are in the padya (poetry) form, 10 social plays and 12 social playlets," Mr K.V. Ramanachari, Managing Director of AP Film, Television and Theatre Develop- ment Corporation, said. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said the corporation received 162 entries for this year's theatre festival. "Of the 300-odd performers, 60 are women," he said.
