Nabard sanctions Rs 28.16 cr for Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs 28.16 crore to the Kerala Government, says an official press release.

The amount is to be used to implement 21 minor irrigation projects in seven districts, one flood protection project in Alappuzha district and 50 soil and water conservation projects on a watershed basis in all the State's districts, the release adds.

These projects are expected to generate recurring employment of 3.43 lakh man-days on completion, besides non-recurring employment of 12.6 lakh man-days during implementation, the release states.
