Wildlife Hair-raising! Parth Sanyal
A live Tarantula spider, brought in by Forest officials, being examined in Kolkata. Residents of at least five towns and several villages of the Burdwan and Midnapore districts in West Bengal have reportedly fallen ill after spider attacks over the last two weeks. The deadly Tarantulas are mostly found in Central and South America but nine genera, with 49 species, are found in India alone.
