Pvt bus operators plan stir in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Private bus operators in the State under the banner of the Kerala State Private Bus Operators Federation have announced that they would launch an indefinite strike from July 7 to press for an increase in bus fares.

Making this announcement at a press conference in the city, Mr Khalid Mundapilli, President, Kerala State Private Bus Operators Federation, said the Government must increase bus fares in Kerala in the light of the hike in fuel prices. The federation has also put forward several other demands, including reduction of motor vehicle tax rates.
