Arts & Crafts IFA announces four new grant programmes Our Bureau
Mumbai , June 23 THE India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) has announced four new grants from Maharashtra under its Arts Research and Documentation Programme - 2004. These are among the 16 new grants awarded recently under this programme to individuals and institutions across the country. The Maharashtra grants have been given to Ms Nishtha Jain of Mumbai for making a film on studio portraiture in India; Ms Anjali Panjabi of Mumbai for producing a documentary film on the oral legends of Mirabai narrated and sung by the lower castes of Rajasthan; Shri Siddheshwar Shikshan Mandal of Solapur for the documentation of heritage buildings in Solapur in Maharashtra; and PUKAR (Partners for Urban Knowledge, Action and Research) of Mumbai for the documentation of literary activity in nine different languages spoken in Mumbai as well as the translation of selected texts from these languages.
