B.V. Rao in poultry hall of fame

HYDERABAD: The World's Poultry Science Association (WPSA) has posthumously honoured Dr. B. V. Rao, the founder of Venkateshwara Hatcheries group, by electing him to the International Poultry Hall of Fame at the recently concluded XXII World's Poultry Congress at Istanbul in Turkey.

The prestigious award was conferred on Dr. Rao "in recognition of his dedicated contributions to poultry science and worldwide poultry industries, above and beyond the call of duty", according to a press release here.

Dr Rao was the architect of Indian poultry industry's growth and modernisation. Considered as the "Father of Indian Poultry Industry", he had created world-class facilities in the country for genetic research, vaccine production, automation, poultry and egg processing and entrepreneurial development.
