New Products & Services TAFE launches `Samrat 4410' Our Bureau
Bangalore , June 25 TRACTORS and Farm Equipment Ltd (TAFE) today launched its latest tractor, Samrat TAFE 4410, in Karnataka. A member of the Chennai-based Amalgamations Group, TAFE has a significant presence in the State, and with the new model, it hopes to increase its current market share of 22 per cent. TAFE 4410 is packed with features, such as a 44-horse power engine, a side-shift constant mesh gearbox to provideeffortless gear changing and an engine technology provided by AVL Austria. Mr T.R. Kesavan, Vice-President (Marketing), said that with its low operational costs and high resale value, TAFE Samrat is expected to boost the company's tractor sales in the country. Though the tractor market was sluggish due to inadequate monsoon and drought conditions in the country for the last two to three years, it is expected to gain momentum this year, Mr Kesavan said. This year, the monsoon has been quite active already, and with better distribution during its peak in the next one month, tractor sales should pick up. However, he said that a long-term and a comprehensive strategy through better credit, assured irrigation facilities and good extension service to farmers could help spread the benefits of tractors.
