Rubber prices remain steady

THE physical rubber market was steady on Friday; but ungraded rubberdeclined a tad on low demand.

The buyers appeared to be more cautious about a possible improvement in arrivals on better climatic conditions. The transactions were low.

The futures market maintained the better trend on Friday. The near month July delivery was quoted at Rs 65.62 (Rs 65.31), August delivery at Rs 61.65 (Rs 61.31), September delivery at Rs 59.23 (Rs 58.93) and October delivery at Rs 57.99 (Rs 57.69) per kg for RSS 4.

The July futures for RSS 3 closed at 162.6 yen against 162.7 yen a kg at TOCOM. At Bangkok, the same grade was static at Rs 63.22 a kg on Thursday.

The spot market rates per kg on Friday were as follows: RSS 4 Rs 66 (Rs 66), RSS 5 Rs 62.50 (Rs 62.50), ungraded Rs 59.75 (Rs 60), ISNR 20 Rs 58 (Rs 58) and latex 60 per cent Rs 48.50 (Rs 48.50)
