Kerala inventors to be feted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Institution of Engineers (India), Kerala State Centre, proposes to honour inventors whose patented technologies/products have been transferred to industries and successfully commercialised, apart from being duly recognised through grant of national and international awards.

The IEI Kerala State Centre proposes to fete them during the course of a two-day educational workshop on "Patents, Designs, Trademarks and Copyrights" to be held at its office here on July 16 and 17.

The programme is being organised by the he Centre for IP (Intellectual Property) Management of the Institution, according to Mr R. Satheesh, Honorary Secretary.

It is expected to of benefit to undergraduate and graduate students and research scholars in engineering, medicine, law and other disciplines. Scientists and technologists from academic institutions and the industrial sector can also benefit from the workshop, he added.

The IEI has invited both institutions and inventors to participate in the programme. Details of patented inventions that satisfy conditions listed above may be forwarded along with supporting documents to the Honorary Secretary, The Institution of Engineers (India), Kerala State Centre, Vellayambalam, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 033 not later than July 7, 2004.
