Telecommunications Bharti unit for corporate clients Our Bureau
New Delhi , June 25 IN a bid to tap the lucrative corporate segment, Bharti Tele-Ventures has created a new business unit by merging its data and broadband group with key corporate accounts of mobility and fixed line businesses. The new unit called "Enterprise Business" has been created with the objective of offering a single-window solution to the communication needs of corporate clients. The business unit will be headed by Mr Jai Menon, who will continue to head the IT and Technology division of the Group. Currently, the data, broadband and fixed-line businesses are under Bharti Infotel Ltd, while the mobile business is under Bharti Cellular. After the restructuring, the corporate accounts of the mobility segment would also be brought under the new business unit. The new business unit will be placed under the umbrella of Bharti Infotel. As per industry estimates, 80 per cent of India's telecom revenues come from the top 20 per cent of subscribers, which primarily comprise of corporates. While a large chunk of this market is still held by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, (BSNL), increasingly, private sector operators, including Reliance Infocomm and Tata Teleservices, are trying to take a share of the pie.
