Science & Technology 18 young scientists to meet Nobel Laureates Our Bureau
New Delhi , June 26 THE Department of Science and Technology (DST) has selected 18 young scientists from the discipline of Physics who will get to interact with Nobel Laureates at Lindau, Germany, and visit German institutions. The 18 young scientists will be in Germany from June 27 to July 2. During their visit, they will meet more than 20 Nobel Laureates and students from different scientific institutions. The scientists selected for this year's visit are from the Indian Institute of Technology, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai; Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai; Bhabha Atomic Research Institute, Mumbai; Institute for Plasma Research, Gandhinagar; Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; Punjab University, Chandigarh; Pune University; Shivaji University; Kolhapur and Dayalbagh Institute, Agra. The Rajya Sabha member and former Director of ISRO, Dr K. Kasturirangan, met these scientists. Dr S.K. Brahmachari, Director, Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, Delhi, Dr K.L. Chopra, former Director IIT, Kharagpur, and Dr Krishan Lal, former Director, National Physical Laboratory, Delhi, also shared their experience with this group of scientists.
