Nagarjuna Fert posts Rs 17.4-cr profit

NAGARJUNA Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd (NFCL) has posted a net profit of Rs 17.44 crore during 2003-04 against a net loss of Rs 127.47 crore incurred in the previous year.

According to the audited financial results, the turnover during last fiscal stood at Rs 1,072 crore, an increase of Rs 177 crore over Rs 899 crore registered during 2002-03.The company's basic and diluted earnings per share of Rs 10 each during the year stood at Rs 0.42.

The company had provided Rs 151.20 crore towards adjustments under the Retention Pricing Scheme (RPS) during 2002-03 leading to a net loss. The Union Government had replaced RPS with a new Group Concession Scheme (GCS) effective April 1, 2003. The income for 2003-04 has been accrued on the basis of GPS.
