THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Nabard Consultancy Services (NABCONS), a subsidiary of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard), has been selected by the State Government to prepare a comprehensive, integrated project worth Rs 200-crore for the development of Kuttanad in the State's Alappuzha district, says an official press release. A memorandum of understanding to this effect was signed on June 25 by the State Department of Agriculture and NABARD, the release adds.

Established to provide consultancy services in agriculture and allied areas, NABCONS has worked on several projects for the Government of Kerala. Other clients include the Planning Commission, Department of Agriculture-Government of India, banks and several non-governmental organisations, says the release. In Kerala, the organisation has worked on projects in areas such as food processing, commercial poultry rearing, multiple chamber cold storage and so on, the release adds.
