New Products & Services UDV India launches premium brand liquor in Kerala Our Bureau
KOCHI: UDV India, a part of Diageo PLC, has launched the Smirnoff, Vat 69 and Black and White brands in the Kerala market, targeting to capture a major share of the premium spirits market in the State. "Premium spirits sell about 4,000 cases a month in Kerala. We hope to sell 400 cases of Smirnoff a month to begin with," said Mr R L Rajah, Chief Operating Officer of UDV India. Smirnoff is priced at Rs 575 a bottle in Kerala, while the Vat 69 comes with a price tag of Rs 1,150 for 750 ml bottle. The brands will be available initially in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Trichur. Diageo PLC makes some of the well-known brands such as Johnnie Walker, Guinness and Gilbey's Gin.
