Hyderabad , June 27

WITH a huge demand-supply mismatch of animation professionals in the country, and Hollywood film producers looking toward India for visual and animation related work, Apple Computer International Ltd and Hyderabad-based Padmalaya Telefilms Ltd have come together to establish Padmalaya-ZICA Apple authorised centre for digital media training.

The Country Sales Manager for Apple Computer, Mr Jatinder Bharadwaj, said Apple was bringing in their market experience and technical knowledge on the fastest desktop G-5 computers with high performance economic visual effects, compositing and editing suite, to this training centre.

The Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Dr Dasari Narayana Rao, also a director, said, "In film and TV production, technologies change very fast. This requires constant upgradation, which can be met with such technology centres."

The Chairman and Managing Director of Padmalaya Telefilms, Mr G. Adiseshagiri Rao, said this digital media centre aims to bridge the gap between demand and supply of qualified technicians - a problem that is quite common in the TV, film and broadcasting industry.

This training facility, meant for both amateurs and professionals, will be located in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Kolkatta. It may be introduced in other centres later on.

Padmalaya, in business relationship with the Zee Group, plans to offer a bouquet of training products required for the entertainment and media industry, individually and jointly.
