Airlines Gulf Air offers Mumbai-London return for Rs 21,000 Tunia Cherian George
Mumbai , June 27 TRAVELLERS to Europe never had it so good. A Mumbai-London return ticket is now available for just Rs 21,000 on Gulf Air's economy class. Travel agents are offering this rate on the airline's recently started flight from Mumbai to London via Muscat. The published fare for a return ticket is Rs 36,000. However, the offer is valid only for confirmed return bookings. Further, one has to make the return journey within a period of two months to avail himself/herself of the introductory offer. There are no refunds and a change of date would invite a penalty of Rs 1,200, said a travel agent. The daily service, launched on June 21, leaves Mumbai at 1 p.m. in the afternoon to reach Muscat at 2 p.m. local time. It takes off at 4 p.m. to reach London at 9 p.m. local time. The special fare on Gulf Air is much lower compared with the economy fare on Emirates at approximately Rs 34,000 and that on British Airways at approximately Rs 40,000. The comparative fare on A-I works out to about Rs 38,000. According to one travel agency, the Gulf carriers are offering several incentives to attract the Indian traveller. Hotel accommodation, airport pick-ups and special meals are among the frills currently available.
