Apollo Hospitals seeks telemedicine connectivity from Madurai

A SATELLITE-AIDED global telemedicine connectivity is to be sought by the Apollo Speciality Hospitals (ASH) here from the Indian Space Research Organisation to enable people from the southern districts avail themselves expert medical opinion from the specialists all over the world.
According to Mr T.N. Sekar, General Manager, ASH, Madurai, the district administration is to be approached for the purpose, as the connectivity will help also the doctors in the South to keep themselves abreast with the advancements in the field.
He disclosed this initiative at a launch function in which two private hospitals, one each from Tirunelveli and Kovilpatti, were connected to ASH at Madurai by Dr Pratap C. Reddy, Chairman, ASH, Chennai, under a telemedicine network.
The ASH here is already connected to Chennai and Hyderabad under the network, Mr Sekar added.
