FAPCCI hails move on ADC charges

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) has welcomed the TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) move to reduce the Access Deficit Charges (ADC) paid by the telecom operators to the BSNL for undertaking their rural telephony obligations.

"This will ultimately result in reduced telecom tariff particularly on STD and ISD calls. The lower telecom tariff will benefit the common man and ultimately result in increased tele density," Mr Suraj Prasad Agarwal, Chairman of Posts and Telecom Committee of FAPCCI, said in a statement here. He suggested that ADC charges be removed in order to further bring down telecom tariff.
