M. Ramesh

SUNDRAM Fasteners is on the verge of signing up for a major order with Deutz of Germany.

The company is likely to start supplying fasteners to the German engine manufacturer from August.

The value of a full 12-month year of supplies is estimated around euro 8 million (about Rs 45 crore), Mr Alexander Count of Matuschka-Greiffenclau, Senior Vice-President, Operations, Deutz AG, told Business Line on Wednesday.

In the current year, Sundram Fasteners' business with Deutz would be approximately about Rs 20 crore.

"We started talking with Sundram Fasteners in February," Mr Matuschka-Greiffenclau said, adding that Sundram Fasteners was the least cost producer of fasteners in the world. - M. Ramesh
